O that discordant mescaline moon
maddening me this whole night!
I hear his spirit wail in the wind.
O discomforted chagrin, he passed away
with you by his side, dear mescaline.
For what eternal embrace?
That of madness?
As he lingered, time was erased
and into those beloved fabric folds
of perception; light and dark to elate.
"O maddening stripes, those pleats!
Of God and Evil dancing!
That frightening Zuni chanting!
The blood coursing through my ears;
my immortal casing had been pierced!
And, you my dear, holding my hand,
I felt it's cold spreading.
Your tears wet my undying fear;
this torrent never ending.
As I passed into darkness
that triumphant orb was rising."
